Located off the coast of Galway on an Island called Inis Mór, Aran Off Road Experience is a guided tour company, set up by brothers and native Islanders Pádraig and Aonghus Hernon.
We provide personalised, small group experiences that take you off the beaten track to the local landmarks and unique sites of this
ancient Island.

Our Vehicle
Renowned by 4x4 enthusiasts as the vehicle best suited to off road travel, our Land Rover Defender Jeep has been expertly converted for you comfort. We have adapted the jeep to comply with Covid 19 social-distancing guidance for your safety.

Jeep is divided into 2 separate cabins, with large, leather seats, huge windows and separate entrances.

Cabin A has 7 seats and Cabin B has 4 seats. You can book a cabin for your private group.

As we navigate tracks and trails that no other vehicle can go, comfort is ensured through the soft oversized suspension.

Meet your Guides
Pádraig and Aonghus Hernon are brothers and native Islanders. Their grandfather and father were “jarveys”, the local term for people who give tours on the traditional horse and cart.
Pádraig and Aonghus, being third generation jarveys, carried on this tradition and provided tours of the Island by horse and cart for the past 20 years. Their love of the Island spurred them on to provide an alternative experience of Inis Mór which led them to starting “Aran Off-Road Experience”.
